20+ Millennial Memes 90s Girls Wish They Could Send Their Besties On AOL Instant Messenger
Welcome, millennial ladies. Back in the day, there existed memes, but they were a bit different from the ones we are used to now. Instead of passing around silly images with relatable captions, memes came in the form of funny catchphrases from popular TV shows and movies, repeated nonstop in hallways. Funny pictures could be found in the newspaper in the cartoon section. If you wanted to, you could cut the strips out and put them in your locker. There were chain emails that urged us to send it to 10 other people, lest we be haunted or cursed by its power. Eventually, the first internet memes emerged - LOLcats and references to silly home YouTube videos, like "Charlie bit my finger!"
While life was much easier in the 90s and the early 2000s (partly because we were children or teenagers who didn't have to worry about taxes or aging), at least now we have memes. Enjoy this collection of memes for women who remember AOL instant messenger.
